NSE ASI inches up by 0.45% on Monday
The first trading day at the stock market ended on a bullish note as the NSE All Share Index, ASI, inched up by 170.22 points or 0.45 percent to close on Monday at 38,053.75 basis points as against last Friday’s closing figure of 37,883.53 basis points.
The market capitalisation of entities on the main board equally rose to N12.171 trillion to gain by N54 billion or 0.45 percent from the N12.117 trillion closing figure of last Friday.
At the close of Monday’s transactions, investors exchanged 862.69 million shares valued at N5.71 billion in 5,639 deals as against the 377.50 million shares worth N2.74 billion that was traded last Friday in 4,840 deals.
Transcorp led the top five trades by volume chart on Monday with 388.03 million shares worth N1.49 billion while CWG was second with 96.15 million shares worth N538.51 million.
WAPIC was third with 83.26 million shares valued at N72.12 million while Zenith Bank followed with 41.95 million volume of shares worth N889.57 million.
Access Bank was last on the chart with 37.19 million shares worth N357.86 million.
The top five gainers chart was led by Nestle gaining N49.78k in its share price to close at N1,178.78k per share.
It was followed by Guinness with a gain of N5.01k in its share price to close at N235.01k per share while Mobil was third appreciating by N3.90k in its share price to close at N118.90k per share.
7up in fourth spot gained N3.40k in its share price to close at N71.40k per share while MRS was last on the chart with a share price gain of N3.39k to close at N55.90k per share.
However, Conoil topped the losers chart with a loss of N3.80k in its share price to close at N72.20k per share while Nigerian Breweries was second losing N1.61k in its share price to close at N166.99k per share.
GTB was third with a loss of N0.30k in its share price to close at N26.30k per share while NAHCO in fourth spot lost N0.30k in its share price to close at N5.70k per share.
International Breweries was last on the chart with a share price loss of N0.20k to close at N22.00 per share.
