Governor Dakingari presents N18.9bn for 2013 to state Assembly

imageGov. Saidu Dakingari of Kebbi on Thursday presented a supplementary budget of N18.9 billion to the House of Assembly.

Dakingari said it became necessary because some ministries had indicated that funds earmarked in the 2013 budget would not be adequate for the commencement and execution of some capital projects.

He urged the assembly to pass the supplementary budget to ensure the execution of some capital projects under the 2013 financial year.

The Speaker, Alhaji Aminu Musa, read the 2013 supplementary appropriation bill at plenary session, and said it was made pursuant to the provisions of 1999 Constitution.

The bill after its first reading was referred to the Committee on Finance and Appropriation for more legislative input. (NAN)
