Market Cap loses N57billion on Thursday
The bearish trend at the stock market continued on Thursday with the market capitalisation of entities on the main board shedding N57 billion or 0.47 percent to close lower at N12.067 trillion when compared with Wednesday’s closing figure of N12.124 trillion.
The NSE All Share Index, ASI, equally lost by 176.25 points or 0.46 percent to close at 37,772.86 basis points as against Wednesday’s closing figure of 37,949.11 basis points.
Transcorp led the top five trades by volume chart on Thursday with 37.18 million shares worth N122.39 million while Unity Bank was second with 27.20 million shares worth N13.85 million.
Zenith Bank was third with 22.53 million shares valued at N479.62 million.
It was followed by Oando with 20.34 million shares worth N235.24 million while Diamond Bank was last on the chart with 19.19 million shares worth N136.34 million.
The top five gainers chart was led by Conoil with a gain of N7.05k in its share price to close at N76.00 per share.
MRS was second gaining N4.42k in its share price to close at N47.63k per share while WAPCO in third spot added N2.00 to its share price to close at N106.00 per share.
Total was fourth with a share price gain of N1.89k to close at N162.00 per share while GTB was last on the chart with a gain of N0.55k in its share price to close at N26.80k per share.
However, Nestle led others on the losers chart shedding N31.00 in its share price to close at N1,129.00 per share.
Dangote Cement was second with a loss of N3.25k in its share price to close at N185.00 per share.
It was followed by Nigerian Breweries with a share price loss of N3.00 to close at N170.00 per share.
Guinness was fourth losing N2.10k in its share price to close at N233.01k per share while UACN was last on the chart losing N0.50k in its share price to close at N63.50k per share.
In all, investors exchanged 278.73 million shares worth N2.93 billion in 4,358 deals as against the 291.73 million shares valued at N3.3 billion that was traded in 4,695 deals on Wednesday.
