Market cap gains N125 billion on Tuesday

The bullish trend continued at the stock market on Tuesday with the market capitalisation of listed entities closing at N12.234 trillion to appreciate by N125 billion or 1.03 percent as against Monday’s closing figure of N12.109 trillion.

The NSE All Share Index, ASI, also inched up by 395.29 points or 1.04 percent to close higher at 38,293.59 basis points when compared with Monday’s closing figure of 37,898.30 basis points.

Nestle Plc topped the losers chart shedding N10.00 in its share price to close at N1,205.00 per share.

WAPCO was second with a loss of N2.00 in its share price to close at N103.00 per share while Ashaka Cement was third losing N1.14k in its share price to close at N21.86k per share.

It was followed by UACN with a share price loss of N0.90k to close at N65.60k per share while PZ was last on the chart with a loss of N0.64k in its share price to close at N37.36k per share.

However, the top five gainers chart on Tuesday was led by Conoil appreciating by N5.80k in its share price to close at N62.55k per share.

It was followed by Forte Oil which added N5.50k to its share price to close at N115.64k per share.

Dangote Cement was third with a gain of N5.00 in its share price to close at N190.00 per share while Nigerian Breweries was fourth with a share price gain of N2.50k to close at N178.00 per share.

Betaglas was last on the chart with a gain of N0.65k in its share price to close at N13.75k per share.

Transcorp led the top five trades by volume chart on Tuesday with 168.27 million shares worth N455.25 million.

It was followed by ETI with 19.33 million shares worth N269.60 million.

WAPIC was third with 15.49 million shares valued at N13.66 million while GTB was fourth with 15.43 million shares worth N402.67 million.

Resortsal was last on the chart with 14.99 million shares worth N7.49 million.

In all, investors exchanged 357.46 million shares valued at N3.26 billion in 5,054 deals as against the 279.47 million shares worth N3.58 billion that was traded on Monday in 4,506 deals.
