ASI gains by 0.38% on Friday

Transactions on the last trading day of the week ended on a positive note with the All Share Index, ASI, gaining 143.08 points or 0.38 percent to close at 37,765.82 basis points higher than Thursday’s closing figure of 37,622.74 basis points.

The market capitalisation of the listed entities equally gained by N46 billion or 0.38 percent to close on Friday at N12.066 trillion as against Thursday’s closing figure of N12.020 trillion.

The top five gainers chart on Friday was led by Nestle which gained N28.76k in its share price to close at N1,128.76k per share.

Forte Oil was second with a gain of N3.38k in its share price to close at N71.03k per share while WAPCO was third with an addition of N2.99k to its share price to close at N105.00 per share.

It was followed by Cadbury with a share price gain of N0.94k to close at N56.00 per share while GTB was last on the chart with a gain of N0.60k in its share price to close at N25.90k per share.

However, Guinness led the losers chart shedding N5.47k in its share price to close at N246.53k per share.

It was followed by Unilever which dropped N0.90k in its share price to close at N60.10k per share.

Access Bank was third losing N0.38k in its share price to close at N9.31k per share.

Zenith Bank was in fourth position with a share price loss of N0.24k to close at N21.30k per share while Chellaram was last on the chart with a loss of N0.21k in its share price to close at N4.15k per share.

UBA led the top five trades by volume chart on Friday with 30.10 million shares valued at N241.04 million.

Access Bank was second with 22.78 million shares valued at N213.79 million.
It was followed by GTB with 19.07 milllion shares worth N487.42 million while Zenith Bank was in fourth position with 17.53 million volume of shares worth N373.43 million.

Transcorp was last on the chart with 17.17 million shares valued at N32.15 million.

In all, investors traded 226.69 million shares valued at N3.07 billion in 4,111 deals as against the 380.81 million shares worth N4.02 billion that exchanged hands on Thursday in 4,554 deals.
