Stock Market Watch: Market cap gains N76billion on Tuesday

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, ended on a bullish note on Tuesday with the market capitalisation of the listed entities closing higher at N11.986 trillion to gain N76 billion or 0.63 percent when compared with Monday’s N11.910 trillion closing figure.

The All Share Index, ASI, also appreciated by 236.21 points or 0.63 percent to close for the day at 37,514.55 basis points as against Monday’s closing figure of 37,278.34 basis points.

Investors traded 294.42 million shares valued at N3.21 billion in 5,151 deals as against the 241.39 million shares worth N2.63 billion that was traded on Monday in 4,066 deals.

Forte Oil led the top five losers chart shedding N5.33k in its share price to close at N67.65k per share.

UAC Property was second with a loss of N0.31k in its share price to close at N18.50k per share.

It was followed by NASCON which lost N0.30k in its share price to close at N12.05k per share while Zenith Bank was fourth with a share price loss of N0.25k to close at N21.20k per share.

UBA was last on the chart losing N0.20k in its share price to close at N7.44k per share.

However, the top five gainers chart was led by Nigerian Breweries which gained N6.45k in its share price to close at N173.50k per share.

WAPCO followed with an addition of N4.30k to its share price to close at N105.30k per share.

GSK was third gaining N1.01k in its share price to close at N66.01k per share while Stanbic was in fourth position with a gain of N0.85k in its share price to close at N19.95k per share.

PZ was last on the chart with a share price gain of N0.51k to close at N39.00 per share.

The top five trades by volume chart on Tuesday was led by WAPIC with 43.84 million shares worth N37.02 million.

It was followed by GTB with 29.15 million volume of shares valued at N738 million.

Access Bank was third with 23.14 million shares worth N229.23 million while Fidelity Bank was fourth with 17.86 million shares valued at N48.21 million.

UBA was last on the chart with 17.21 million shares worth N132.69 million.
