Stock Market Watch: Market cap gains N13billion on Wednesday

The bullish trend continued at the stock market on Wednesday as the market capitalisation of equities on the main board climbed to N11.952 trillion gaining N13 billion or 0.11 percent from Tuesday’s closing figure of N11.939 trillion.

The All Share Index, ASI, also closed for the day at 37,408.56 basis points thus appreciating by 40.46 points or 0.11 percent and improved on Tuesday’s closing figure of 37,368.10 basis points.

At the close of Wednesday’s transactions, investors traded 358.98 million shares valued at N4.16 billion in 5,253 deals as against the 308.03 million shares worth N4.26 billion that exchanged hands in 5,180 deals on Tuesday.

Transcorp led the top five trades by volume chart with 56.39 million volume of shares valued at N98.97 million.

GTB was second with 53.42 million shares worth N1.35 billion while Unity Kapital was third with 30 million shares valued at N15 million.

Access Bank followed with 24.57 million shares worth N254.49 million while UBA was last on the chart with 22.18 million shares valued at N174.07 million.
The top five losers chart was led by Nigerian Breweries which lost N2.00 in its share price to close at N174.00 per share.

It was followed by PZ which share price dipped by N1.47k to close at N40.00 per share while Guinness occupied the third spot losing N1.02k in its share price to close at N245.00 per share.

Unilever was fourth with a loss of N0.62k in its share price to close at N60.00 per share while NASCON was last on the chart by losing N0.18k in its share price to close at N12.11k per share.

Nestle, however, topped the gainers chart with an addition of N40.00 to its share price to close at N1,050.00 per share.

Conoil was second with a gain of N4.14k in its share price to close at N44.62k per share.

It was followed by CAP Plc with a share price gain of N3.97k to close at N42.82k per share.

Forte Oil occupied the fourth spot gaining N3.67k in its share price to close at N74.55k per share while Mobil was last on the chart with a gain of N2.00 in its share price to close at N120.00 per share.
