Stock Market Watch: ASI up by 0.27% on Tuesday
Transactions at the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, ended Tuesday with the All Share Index, ASI, gaining 0.27 percent or 100.14 points to close at 37,368.10 basis points higher than Monday’s closing figure of 37,267.96 basis points.
The market capitalisation of the listed entities also rose to N11.939 trillion appreciating by N66 billion or 0.56 percent from Monday’s closing figure of N11.873 trillion.
The top five trades by volume chart on Tuesday was led by GTB with 77.07 million volume of shares worth N1.97 billion.
It was followed by Transcorp with 33.39 million shares valued at N57.41 million.
Access Bank was third with 24.93 million shares worth N257.37 million while FBNH was fourth with 15.36 million shares valued at N253.31 million.
AIICO was last on the chart with 14.79 million shares valued at N13.82 million.
Forte Oil topped the top five gainers chart with a share price gain of N6.58k to close at N70.88k per share.
Guinness occupied the second spot appreciating by N6.06k in its share price to close at N246.02k per share.
It was followed by Nigerian Breweries which gained N4.00 in its share price to close at N176.00 per share.
Conoil was fourth with a gain of N1.92k in its share price to close at N40.48k per share while Beta Glas which share price rose by N0.60k to close at N13.10k per share was the last on the chart.
However, Cadbury led the losers chart shedding N2.50k in its share price to close at N56.50k per share.
WAPCO came second losing N0.47k in its share price to close at N98.03k per share while Ashaka Cement was third with a loss of N0.45k in its share price to close at N22.55k per share.
Unilever was fourth with a share price loss of N0.42k to close at N60.62k per share.
Zenith Bank was last on the chart with a loss of N0.32k in its share price to close at N21.55k per share.
In all, investors traded 308.03 million shares worth N4.26 billion in 5,180 deals as against the 295.69 million shares valued at N3.91 billion which exchanged hands in 5,921 deals on Monday.
