Stock Market Watch: Indices rise by 0.09% on Friday

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, ended this week on a positive note as the All Share Index, ASI, rose to 36,991.62 basis points away from Thursday’s closing figure of 36,962.63 basis points gaining 28.99 points or 0.08 percent.

The market capitalisation of the listed entities equally gained by 0.08 percent or N9 billion to close today at N11.782 trillion as against Thursday’s N11.773 trillion closing figure.

The top five trades by volume chart on Friday was led by ETI with 61.64 million shares worth N841.46 million while Transcorp was in second position with 44.75 million shares valued at N78.71 million.

GTB followed with 27.61 million shares valued at N694.42 million.

Zenith Bank was fourth with 27.44 million shares worth N581.24 million while Unity Bank was last with 21.17 million shares valued at N12.11 million.

Mobil led the top five advancers chart appreciating by N4.40k in its share price to close at N119.40k per share.

It was followed by UACN which gained N1.98k in its share price to close at N63.50k per share.

Zenith Bank was in third position with a share price gain of N0.69k to close at N21.51k per share while International Breweries was fourth with a gain of N0.67k in its share price to close at N20.08k per share.

Ashaka cement was last with an addition of N0.60k to its share price to close at N22.60k per share.

The top five decliners chart was led by Flour Mill which shed N1.99k in its share price to close at N81.00 per share.

It was followed by Dangote Cement which recorded a loss of N0.50k in its share price to close at N189.00 per share while Nigerian Breweries was third with a loss of N0.40k in its share price to close at N169.50k.

Julius Berger was in fourth position with a share price loss of N0.40k to close at N7.60k per share while ETI was last on the chart with a loss of N0.34k in its share price to close at N13.65k per share.

In all, investors traded 291.83 million shares valued at N3.58 billion in 4,075 deals as against the 308.07 million shares worth N2.09 billion that exchanged hands in 4,305 deals Thursday.
