19 petroleum products-laden ships berth at Lagos ports

Nineteen ships laden with different petroleum products have arrived at the ports in Lagos, according to the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).

NPA, in its daily publication, “Shipping Position’’ obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said on Tuesday that the petroleum products included fuel, diesel, kerosene and base oil.

It said another ship carrying containers is also waiting to berth at the APM Terminal, Apapa.

The publication disclosed that 93 vessels were expected to arrive at Lagos ports from Oct. 8 to Oct. 29.
Giving a breakdown, the NPA said of the 93 vessels, 41 would sail in with containers, while 16 of them would bring in vehicles both new and second-hand.

It added that 11 of the vessels would arrive at the ports with various petroleum products, while 12 were expected to bring in food items, including buckwheat, frozen fish and bulk sugar.

Five vessels will also arrive at the ports with general cargo and the remaining eight are expected to come in with assorted items, including truck heads and steel products, the NPA said. (NAN)
