Investors trade 309.88 million shares on Monday

Trading on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, ended Monday with investors trading 309.88 million shares worth N4.14 billion in 4,277 deals as against the 536.94 million shares valued at N2.53 billion that was exchanged in 3,817 deals last Friday.

The top five trades by volume chart on Monday was led by Transcorp with 69.21 million shares worth N128.68 million while Hmarkins was second with 50 million shares valued at N25 million.

WAPCO followed with 21.11 million shares worth N2.08 billion.

WAPIC Insurance was fourth with 15.59 million shares valued at N13.42 million while Unity Bank was last on the chart with 13.94 million shares worth N7.90 million.

At the close of trading, the All Share Index, ASI, dipped by 68.60 points or 0.19 percent to close at 36,857.22 basis points lower than last Friday’s 36,925.82 basis points figure.

In the same vein, the market capitalisation of the listed entities depreciated by N22 billion or 0.19 percent to close today at N11.739 trillion as against the N11.761 closing figure of last Friday.

The top five advancers was led by Forte Oil appreciating by N4.02k in its share price to close at N43.40k per share.

It was followed by Nestle Plc which added N3.50k to its share price to close at N1,002.00 per share while Cadbury Plc was third with a share price gain of N1.95k to close at N49.95k per share.

Ashaka Cement was in fourth position gaining N0.55k in its share price to close at N20.55k per share while Dangote Sugar was last on the chart with a gain of N0.40k in its share price to close at N11.70k per share.

On the losers chart, Flour Mill was ahead of others losing N3.00 in its share price to close at N80.00 per share while Nigerian Breweries was second with a loss of N2.77k in its share price to close at N170.23k per share.

PZ followed with a share price loss of N0.99k to close at N37.01k per share while Presco was fourth with a loss of N0.70k in its share price to close at N34.00 per share.

Julius Berger which share price dipped by N0.65k to close at N77.85k per share was last on the chart.
