Mercedes-Benz , KIA, Toyota to showcase latest models at Abuja Motor Show

Ayear after opening its ultra-modern facility in Abuja, Weststar Associates Limited, representatives of Mercedes-Benz in Nigeria, said it is set to storm the forthcoming Abuja Motor Show with the latest models of the Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

And just as the Mercedes   SLS AMG Roadstir was the show-stopper at the auto fair last year, the company said in a statement that all its newly – introduced models such as the new E200, E300 and E-Class Coupe,  A and C –Class lines will be on display to woo patrons with  their  powerful and efficient engines which provide driving comfort, environmental friendliness and good fuel economy. Weststar, which is also the official representative of Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands in the country, said all the brands will also be on parade at the show which starts on October 22.

Dana Motors Limited, the sole distributors of KIA Motors in Nigeria, said it will also market its new promotion ‘Buy Now, Pay in 2014’ in partnership with Access Bank, at the motor show. Under the new scheme, lovers of the Kia brand could drive away in their dream   cars and start paying later in 2014. “As per the scheme, a moratorium period of up to 90 days exists wherein customers have to begin paying the first instalment only in 2014,”  the Chief Commercial Officer of Dana Motors Limited, Mr. Sandeep Malhotra, said,  adding  “Customers seeking auto loan are supported with fast approvals, low interest rates and easy documentation.”

A statement signed by the Marketing Manager of the company, Mr. Kayode Adejumo, listed some of the brands to be displayed as the show to include the chic, compact and colorful ‘All in Small’ Picanto , saying  the new   Rio boasts a bold and distinctive personality. He said all the Kia models, including the Quoris,  will also be on display at the show. “The all new Rio comes with 1.2 litre and 1.4 litre engine loaded with features while the Cerato comes with a choice of two gasoline engines – the popular 130 ps 1.6-litre Gamma engine and Kia’s 161 ps 2.0-litre Nu engine.

“In the SUV segment, you have the big size SUV Mohave or the Sorento to choose from.  Sportage 2.0L (4×4) manufactured in Europe 2.0L offers an impressively high degree of reliability and durability and delivers like no other car. Sportage along with Cerato and Optima (2.4L) now comes with the new five years/100,000 kilometres warranty, “ Adejumo stated.

Toyota will also be showcasing the new RAV4 as well as other top-of-the range models at the auto fair   as chairman of the organising committee of the fair and Managing Director/CEO, BKG Exhibitions, Mr. Ifeanyichukwu Agwu, told THISDAY that all is set for the motor show.
