Stock Market Watch: NSE ASI dips by 0.91% on Friday

Trading on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, ended this week with the All Share Index, ASI, depreciating by 0.91 percent or 340.86 points to close Friday at 36,925.82 basis points lower than Thursday’s 37,266.68 basis points mark.

However, the market capitalisation of the listed entities closed higher gaining N43 billion or 0.37 percent at N11.761 trillion as against Thursday’s N11.718 trillion figure.

At the end of trading on Friday, investors exchanged 536.94 million shares worth N2.53 billion in 3,817 deals in contrast to the 412.36 million shares valued at N4.90 billion that was traded in 4,449 deals Thursday.

Nigerian Breweries led the top five gainers chart appreciating by N3.60k in its share price to close at N173.00 per share.

Mobil followed gaining N3.05k in its share price to close at N110.05k per share while FO was third with a gain of N1.87k in its share price to close at N39.38k per share.

Julius Berger was fourth on the chart with a gain of N1.51k in its share price to close at N78.50k per share while Unilever was last with a share price gain of N1.51k to close at N61.01k per share

On the losers end, Guinness was in front with a loss of N6.40k in its share price to close at N249.64k per share.

GSK was second dropping N1.50k in its share price to close at N64.00 per share while Ashaka cement followed with a loss of N0.90k in its share price to close at N20.00 per share.

UAC Property was fourth shedding N0.55k in its share price to close at N15.80k per share while Air Service was last losing N0.41k in its share price to close at N3.82k per share.

The top five trades by volume chart was led by Transcorp with 256.34 million shares valued at N496.68 million.

WAPIC was second with 80.06 million volume of shares worth N74.89 million while Hmarkins was third with 50 million shares worth N25 million.

UBA followed with 32.44 million shares valued at N243.23 million while ETI was last with 16.10 million shares worth N219.06 million.
