NSE ASI gains 0.97% on Thursday
Transactions at the stock market continued on an impressive note on Thursday as the NSE All Share Index gained 0.97 percent or 358.62 points to close at 37,266.68 basis points as against the 36,908.06 basis points of the previous day.
The market capitalisation of the listed entities equally appreciated by N10 billion or 0.09 percent to close for the day at N11.718 trillion as against Wednesday’s N11.708 trillion mark.
At the end of today’s transactions, investors traded 412.36 million shares valued at N4.90 billion in 4,449 deals.
This was in contrast to the 396.43 million shares valued at N4.89 billion that was transacted in 4,359 deals Wednesday.
Nigerian Breweries was ahead of others in the top five gainers chart with a gain of N1.40k in its share price to close at N169.40k per share.
Cadbury was second gaining N0.93k in its share price to close at N47.00 per share while GTB was third appreciating by N0.30k in its share price to close at N25.70k per share.
NAHCO followed with a share price gain of N0.23k to close at N6.30k per share while Dangote Sugar was last on the chart with a gain of N0.20k in its share price to close at N11.20k per share.
However, Guinness topped the losers chart with a loss of N10.66k in its share price to close at N256.04k per share.
Okomu Oil followed shedding N2.17k in its share price to close at N41.53k per share while Unilever was third with a drop of N1.11k in its share price to close at N59.50k per share.
Presco was fourth losing N0.47k in its share price to close at N33.50k per share while NASCON was last on the chart with a loss of N0.41k in its share price to close at N12.09k per share.
The top five trades by volume chart on Thursday was led by Zenith Bank with 74.81 million volume of shares worth N1.49 billion.
Hmarkins followed with 50 million shares valued at N25 million while Sterling Bank was third with 41.25 million shares worth N92.86 million.
UBA was fourth with 38.68 million shares valued at N290.66 million while Transcorp was last on the chart with 34.02 million shares worth N62.57 million.
