Investors trade 279.16million shares on Monday

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, ended Monday with investors trading 279.16 million shares valued at N3.04 billion in 3,310 deals.

This was in contrast to the 269.89 million shares valued at N1.73 billion that exchanged hands in 4,044 deals last week Friday.

The market capitalisation of the listed entities appreciated by N48 billion or 0.41 percent to close on Monday at N11.653 trillion as against last Friday’s N11.605 trillion.

The All Share Index, ALSI, equally gained 148.10 points or 0.41 percent to close at 36,585.08 basis points as against the 36,436.98 basis points figure of last week Friday.

Guinness topped the gainers chart with a gain of N12.70k in its share price to close at N266.70k per share.

FO was second appreciating by N1.69k in its share price to close at N37.39k per share while Nigerian Breweries was third with a share price gain of N1.00 to close at N165.00 per share.

WAPCO followed with a price gain of N0.50k to close at N99.00 per share while Total Plc was last with a gain of N0.49k in its share price to close at N157.00 per share.

The top five losers chart was led by Okomuoil shedding N2.05k in its share price to close at N46.00 per share while Presco was second with a loss of N0.80k in its share price to close at N32.50k per share.

Oando was third with a share price loss of N0.45k to close at N10.35k per share while Jos Breweries was fourth losing N0.21k in its share price to close at N4.17k per share.

Livestock Feeds was last with a loss of N0.18k in its share price to close at N3.72k per share.

The top five trades by volume chart on Monday was led by Transcorp with 54.57 million volume of shares valued at N86.99 million.

UBA was second with 38.72 million shares worth N286.72 million while ETI was third with 26.09 million shares valued at N351.02 million.

Zenith Bank was fourth with 23.59 million shares valued at N471.74 million while Hmarkins was last on the chart with 20 million shares worth N10 million.
