Pace law firm, Canada, is inviting viable Nigerian investors to Canada to do business. According to Rachel Eta Omologe, Immigration Assistant to The Hon. Gerry Weiner P.C, former Minister of Immigration and Citizenship Canada,  Canada’s business/ investor programs  guarantee permanent residence in in the country and thereafter ensuring  eligibility to apply for Canadian citizenship if a permanent resident so desires.

“We are pleased to inform that Hon. Weiner created the investor immigrant program and we have successfully brought a number of people from Nigeria, other parts of Africa and around the world to Canada. Most families, over the last 20 years, have been coming to Canada under the passive investor program” she said in a statement made available to THISDAY.

She stated that there are other programs – like the various provincial nominee programs –  which guarantees permanent residence status for an applicant and his entire family to relocate to Canada; adding that with these programs, provinces in Canada may select qualified applicants with intentions of establishing and operating businesses in Canada.

” These programs are termed active investor program, the investor establishes a business, operates the business and ensures the day-to-day management of the business by ensuring that it is effectively carried out. This requires the investor to be present in Canada as opposed to the passive program wherein the investor may not necessarily be present in Canada most of the time” she added.

However, if an investor wishes to apply for the Canadian citizensip, he needs to meet certain government requirement.

For students, there many options available to those  who are looking to further their studies.
