NIS promotes 6,193 officers

The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) on Thursday in Abuja announced the promotion of 6,193 officers and men to various positions in the service.

The promotion was announced in a statement signed by the NIS Public Relations Officer, Mr Chukwuemeka Obua.

The statement said the promotion was conveyed to the NIS in a letter from the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prisons Services Board vide Ref. No.CDFIPB/PL/NIS/330.

It further said that 34 Deputy Comptrollers of Immigration were promoted to the rank of Comptrollers of Immigration while 44 Assistant Comptrollers of Immigration rose to the rank of Deputy Comptrollers of Immigration Service.

It further said that 50 Chief Superintendents of Immigration were promoted to Assistant Comptrollers of Immigration.

The statement said that of the number promoted to the position of Immigration Inspectors, 158, who were members of the Joint Task Force, got automatic promotion.

The remaining 5,907 officers were promoted to various ranks.

The NIS Comptroller-General, Mr David Parradang, congratulated those promoted an enjoined them to work harder to justify their elevation.
