19 ships carrying petrol berth at Lagos ports

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) says 19 ships laden with petroleum products have arrived at the Lagos ports.

The NPA, in its daily publication the “Shipping Position”, on Wednesday in Lagos, said that the ships were part of the 21 vessels expected on Wednesday.

According to the Shipping Position, two others carried frozen fish and bulk salt.

It said that 82 other vessels carrying different items were expected to arrive at the ports between Wednesday and Oct. 15.

A breakdown of the cargoes carried by the vessels showed that 21 of the vessels had petrol, kerosene, diesel, crude, palm oil and aviation fuel.

“Twenty-six of the vessels carried containers, three with general cargoes while 14 will sail in with vehicles,” the publication said.

It said that the rest of the vessels would come in with different items, including steel products and ethanol. (NAN)
