Stock Market Watch: Indices depreciates by 0.28% on Monday

In the same vein, the market capitalisation of the listed entities recorded a loss of N32 billion or 0.28 percent to close for the day at N11.495 trillion as against the N11.527 trillion mark of last Friday.

At the close of today’s trading, investors exchanged 261.32 million shares valued at N1.52 billion in 4,616 deals.

This was in contrast to the 300.01 million shares valued at N1.97 billion that was traded by investors in 4,659 deals last Friday.

The top five gainers chart at the close of transactions on Monday was led by Total Plc with a gain of N14.65k in its share price to close at N166.00 per share.

Portland Paint was second with a share price gain of N0.37k to close at N5.60k per share while Dangote Sugar was third with a gain of N0.25k in its share price to close at N10.75k per share.

In fourth position was Academy Press with a gain of N0.17k in its share price to close at N1.87k per share while ETI was last on the chart with a price gain of N0.14k to close at N13.50k per share.

However, the top five losers chart was led by Guinness which lost N2.99k in its share price to close at N245.01k per share.

WAPCO was second with a price loss of N2.00 to close at N90.00 per share while Oando was third with a loss of N0.70k in its share price to close at N10.30k per share.

Jos Breweries was fourth losing N0.66k in its share price to close at N6.00 per share while NAHCO was last with a price loss of N0.30k to close at N6.08k per share.

The top five trades by volume chart today was led by Unity Bank with 119.91 million volume of shares valued at N82.76 million while Dangote Sugar was second with 17.23 million shares worth N182.07 million.

Japaul Oil was third with 13.49 million shares valued at N6.75 million.

Transcorp was fourth with 10.78 million shares valued at N16.04 million while FBNH was last with 10.70 million volume of shares valued at N169.43 million.
