MTN donates five patrol vehicles to Kogi

A telecommunications service provider, MTN, on Thursday donated five Hilux patrol vehicles to Kogi Government.

Presenting the vehicles to Gov. Idris Wada in Lokoja, the North Central Coordinator of MTN, Mr Michael Eking-Michael, said that the donation was meant to assist the state in its fight against crime.

He said that the vehicles were fitted with communication gadgets, adding that the fight against crime was the responsibility of all stakeholders.

Eking-Michael said that MTN was ready to sustain its partnership with the state government and called on other corporate organisations to emulate the gesture.

In his response, Wada thanked the company for the donation, saying that it came at a time the state was facing increased wave of armed banditry.

The governor said that the vehicles would serve as morale booster to security agencies in the state.

Wada also thanked the company for its assistance to victims of the 2012 flood disaster in the state. (NAN)
