DANA Airline to re-launch flight operations to Port Harcourt on Monday
The Management of DANA Airline said on Tuesday that it would resume flight operations to Port-Harcourt, Rivers, on Monday, April 22.
This was contained in a statement by its Media Relationship Officer, Samuel Ogbogoro, made available to newsmen.
“DANA Air is scheduled to operate daily flights from both destinations to Port Harcourt on the resumption of the service, “ Ogbogoro said.
He explained that the re-launch would enable business and leisure travellers the opportunity to experience the airline’s world-class services.
“We are constantly reviewing our operations and our decision to commence operations to Port-Harcourt is hinged on our desire to offer our guests access to seamless connections to their final destinations across the nation”.
The Media Officer said that the operations would entail one daily flight from Lagos to Port Harcourt at 11:43hrs and a return flight at 13:50hrs.
“Slight change in schedule will be effected only at the weekend.
“DANA Air will also offer daily flights from Port-Harcourt to Abuja at 08:00hrs, with a return leg to Port-Harcourt at 18:00hrs”.
DANA Air services were grounded following the crash of its MD 83 aircraft coming to Lagos from Abuja in which 147 people were killed on June 3, 2012.
It, however, resumed flight operations in January, after fulfilling all the requirements put in place by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
Ogbogoro reaffirmed the commitment of the airline to boost its operations by acquiring more Boeing 737 aircraft by the third quarter of this year.

Only in nigeria these sort of things happen- Dana airline allowed on our airspace again and Nigerians are paying to fly with this airline. The supesonic jet Concorde was grounded and never heard of (at least up till now) after one fatal incident and this is going to 13years.Those responsible were found guilty of manslaughter.ive heard from friends that Dana had resumed operations. It is pathetic even beyond words. If any high ranking official in the presidency or the president himself or any of the top management of the NCAA had buried a spouse, child or any loved one as a result of that plane crash,i guarantee the story will be different. The crash was not an accident,’it was an accident waiting to happen’ as quoted by some of its staff and some passengers who flew on previous occassions. The crash happened as a result of the airline’s Culture of Greed and Total Disregard for human lives.Their faulty planes were forced to still carry passengers even when staff had complained that there were engine problems ,it just fell on deaf ears.i imagine the boss saying i beg carry go.shame on the yeye mediocre woman who call herself minister for aviation.i remember her shedding crocodile tears during a press conference shortly after the incident.Shame on you and all involved in the decision to bring Dana back to do more slaughtering.
