Osun enters into partnership with Malaysian company, signs MoU
In line with its drive for economic growth, the Osun State Government has signed a Memorandum of understanding with a Malaysian company, Asa Palmilk (M) Sdn Bhd (Palmilk) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The MoU is targeted at ensuring cooperation and collaboration between the state government and Asa Palmik in the area of trade and investment, particularly agriculture and agro-allied industry sub-sector (agricultural produce processing).
The signing of the MoU took place on Friday 5th April, 2013 at the KLCC Twin tower in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Moshood Adeoti, Secretary to the State Government and Dr Charles Akinola, Director General, Office of Economic Development and Partnerships signed on behalf of Osun, while Nor Azlinda Dato’s Shaari, Executive Director of Asa Palmik did same on behalf of his organisation.
Asa Palmlink is a wholly-owned Manufacturing Company that deals on chocolate processing for domestic and international market under Small Medium Industry (SME).
It is part of the Asa Group of Companies, which includes ASA Niaga Sdn Bhd, ASA Niaga Projek Management Sdn Bhd, ASA Niaga Harbour City Sdn Bhd, ASA Palmilk (M) Sdn Bhd, ASA Niaga Pelabuhan Barter Trade Sdn Bhd (JETI), Shaari Jihin & Associates, and ASA Niaga Shipping & Forwarding Sdn Bhd’s.
The signing ceremony attended by top official of Asa Palmik and UCSI University, Malaysia, also had in attendance top government functionaries of the state on leadership development tour of Malaysia among whom were: Rt Hon. Najeem Salaam, House of Assembly Speaker; Hon. Akintunde Adegboye, Deputy Speaker; Hon Timothy Owoeye; Mr. Gbenga Adebusuyi, Deputy Chief of Staff; Ajibola Basiru, Commmissioner for Regional Integration; Ismaheel Jayeoba, Commissioner for Commerce, Co-operatives and Empowerment.
Others are Kolapo Alimi, Commisioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs; Ms Idiat Babalola, Special Adviser on Federal Matters; Femi Ifaturoti, Director General Bureau of Social Services and Engineer Tawa Williams, Special Adviser on Water Resources.
