Dana Motors Limited, the sole distributors of Kia Motors in Nigeria, has launched the all-new flagship sedan – Kia Quoris – into the Nigerian auto market.

The car was introduced to the Nigerian public in a glittering ceremony held at the grand ball room, Oriental Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The event was graced by very important personalities and dignitaries including the Slovak Republic Ambassador to Nigeria, Miroslav Hacek, the Korean Ambassador to Nigeria Choi Jong-Hyun, and President, Middle East & Africa, Kia Motors Corporation, Alex Chung.

In his welcome address, President, Middle East & Africa, Kia Motors Corporation, Alex Chung, said, “Over the years, Kia has established itself as a leading automotive brand globally and also in Nigeria, with innovative designs and performance-oriented vehicles that meet the needs and lifestyle of our esteemed customers.

“Like everywhere else in the world, discerning Nigerians want a luxury car that reflects their strong image and stylish personality The all-new Kia Quoris was borne out of the desire to meet that expectation; it stands out in the luxury car segment with its Premium Styling, Dynamic Driving Performance and Luxurious Comfort. No doubt, the Kia Quoris would double the admiration that Kia, the fastest growing auto brand in the world, has continued to enjoy here in Nigeria,” he said.

Managing Director, Dana Motors Limited, Jacky Hathiramani, said, “Stylish, elegant and commanding, these are the qualities that set the Kia Quoris apart from the rest.

“Its sleek exterior design, luxurious interior cabin, high performance engine and easy handling dynamics make it an excellent choice, and it is our pleasure to introduce the all-new Kia Quoris into the Nigerian auto market.”

Commenting further, Hathiramani said, “At Dana Motors, we value our customers dearly and our relationship doesn’t end after a sale is made. As a matter of fact, that is just the beginning! This is why we continue to invest in modern state-of-the-art workshops around the country, built to the exact Kia quality standards, to ensure efficient and speedy after-sales services for every Kia car you purchase.”

He said the Kia Quoris is powered by an upgraded 294 ps Lambda V6 3.8-liter MPI engine, noting that the normally aspirated twin DOHC 3.8-litre engine is equipped with dual continuously variable valve timing (CVVT) and a variable intake system (VIS).

He also explained that every Kia Quoris comes with Kia’s all-new eight-speed automatic transmission mated to an innovative SBW (Shift By Wire) technology that helps save space and weight while reducing engine noise in the cabin, adding that   additional night-time safety is provided by the Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFLS) – fitted as standard – that works in conjunction with the full High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights.

He said the Active Safety system comes standard withanti-lock braking (ABS), Brake force Assist System (BAS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Assist Control (HAC), Vehicle Stability Management  (VSM) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), explaining that EBD monitors the car’s load, the combined weight of occupants and cargo, and adjusts the front/rear distribution of the braking pressure to enhance retardation.

He said the new sedan is equipped with Parking Guide System (PGS) to assist Kia Quoris drivers.

He also noted that like all KIA cars marketed by Dana Motors, the all-new KIA Quoris is covered by KIA’s comprehensive warranty program which offers unprecedented consumer protection, noting that included in this program is a 5-year unlimited warranty and 5-year free maintenance service. These, and all the highlighted qualities, he said, make the KIA Quoris a truly great buy.

“Kia Quoris is KIA’s first rear-wheel drive large sedan for more than a decade that sets new standards for advanced design, new technologies and driving performance. The name ‘Quoris’ conveys solidity, luxury and high-technology, all resonating together as a chorus.  The name is derived from the English words ‘core’ and ‘quality’ and hints at the attributes within the very heart of KIA’s new flagship.  The decision to adopt this unconventional name means Kia Quoris will stand out even further from the established crowd,” he said.
