Demonstrating its robust and extensive network coverage across the country, Leading Telecommunications Services Provider, Airtel Nigeria has again unveiled a new campaign to capture its numerous corporate milestones while emphasising its readiness to take advantage of the huge benefits of the new Mobile Number Portability (MNP) which will soon begin.

Speaking at a press conference to unveil the new campaign in Lagos, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Airtel Nigeria, Segun Ogunsanya said the new advertising campaign on its network was necessary to draw attention to the enormous capacity of its network and its sweeping coverage across the length and breadth of the country which has given the company the confidence that its success is certain in the impending Mobile Number Portability.

The Airtel MD revealed that the company has made huge investments in its network, upgrading it to the largest and widest 3.75g coverage in the country with a total spread across the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal capital Territory, Abuja.

According to him, “In the last 30 months, Airtel Networks Limited, has invested over $1.5bn dollars to expand and deepen our network capacity and quality in Nigeria, in pursuit of world class Quality of Service (QoS). It is on record that Airtel was first to call for the implementation of MNP way back in 2010, when we launched our brand in Nigeria. That call was made based on the fact that we were making significant investments in our network and customer service, which are critical success factors in MNP.”

He further reiterated the fact that the Press Conference was designed to show the level of preparedness of Airtel Nigeria for the opening markets, pointing out that the company had just successfully completed Nigeria’s first Long Term Evolution (LTE) trail in Lagos and some selected states of the Federation

“We are the first Telco to have completed LTE (Long Term Evolution) trial in Lagos and we are also the first to introduce High Definition (HD) Voice Service to telecoms consumers. So, the unveiling of our new network campaign today bears testimony to our great efforts in terms of our massive investment and desire to empower Nigerians with innovative and relevant telecommunications services and solutions,” he further assured.

The new Airtel campaign tells the story of how Airtel is covering Nigeria and providing reliable and robust 3.75G network coverage. Speaking on the campaign, the Chief Operating Officer, Deepak Srivastava said that Television Commercials, Radio Jingles and other materials have been designed to appeal to telecoms consumers and excite them in line with the brand aspiration of becoming the most loved brand by Nigerians.
