Huawei joins race for smartphone market in Nigeria

Chinese firm Huawei is set to join the fray, seeking to explore and make enormous gain from an emerging and soaring market for Mobile phones as it prepares to introduce a new range of Android powered Smartphones.

Huawei which has become one of the World’s leading technology players, has also delved into the production of Smartphones, believing it is the tonic for wooing more consumers and gaining more grounds in the market.

Speaking on the Company’s plan, the Managing Director of the Chinese Firm’s operations in West Africa, Mr Tony Liang said that the Ascend D Quad XI smartphone product will be coming into Nigerian market in 2013.

The phone which has features of a powerful quad-core internal processor , is an exceptional product to be introduced into Africa’s leading mobile market. It also has a processing speed of 1.5GHZ, a 4.5 inch display with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution capacity and a density of approximately 326 pixels- per-inch.

It also has 1GB of Random AccessMemory (RAM),a DLNA support, a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, a microSD slot, MHL connectivity, and a 2,600 mAh battery formation a superb feature composition that should interest and excite mobile savvy Nigerians.

Mr Liang, while analysising the Smartphone said “The Ascend D Quad XL’s irremovable battery is able to deliver enough juice for a full day’s use under normal circumstances like checking emails, updating status, sending text messages and making the occasional phone call. However, when pushing the device to the limits with high-intensity games and frequent usage, the Ascend D Quad XL was still able to deliver impressive results of more than 10 hours of battery life.”

Nigeria has become a leading market for mobile technology, and is the reason why every major player in the Industry from Apple, Samsung, RIM, Nokia, LG, HTC to Alcatel are all scrambling to woo Nigerian mobile users. With the entry of Huawei, it will make the competition even stiffer.
