Nigerian Stock Exchange: ASI (+0.36%), Despite Onset Of Selling Pressure

The All Share Index continued its appreciation today, climbing 36 basis points to close at 29,089.51. The market showed resilience to selling pressure as investors sought to consolidate on previous gains.

The banking sector was evenly split between gainers and losers even as UBA (+9.83%) consolidated on previous day gains. Other stocks in the green were Access (+1.5%), Zenith (+1.2%), GTBank (+0.12%), FCMB (+0.58%), and Sterling (+0.46%).

Nigerian Breweries (+0.33%) and Guinness (+0.02%) saw marginal appreciation.

Ashaka (+2.32%) and CCNN (+1.87%) were the only cement companies that recorded price appreciation today.

Activity levels were healthy today as 529 million shares valued at N3.71 billion were traded.
