Nigerian Stock Exchange Watch: ASI (-0.7%) Retreats As Week Commences

The Nigerian Stock Exchange commenced the week on a negative note, shedding 70 basis points.
The banking sub-sector was predominantly bearish with most tickers recording losses.
Access (+0.34%), Diamond (+0.43%), FCMB (+2.8%) and Zenith (+0.17%) were the only stocks that saw appreciation.
FBN Holding (-1.29%) and GTBank (-2.33%) were in the red.
The Breweries sector also was skewed to the negative side with Guinness (-1.89%) and Nigerian Breweries (-3%) down in the day’s trading.
On the flip side, International Breweries (+10%) closed all the way up as investors took positions based on dividend expectations.
