The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has plans to revive the Koko Port in Delta State, its managing director, Omar Suleiman has disclosed.

He said this was going to be a collaborative effort between the NPA, Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) and others.

He added that his organization was committed to making Nigerian ports the preferred destinations for West and Central Africa-bound cargoes.

In order to achieve this, it had included the dredging of the Escavros Channel which leads to the Warri Port in this year’s budget. The dregdging of the channel would make it easier for merchant ships to come into the Delta port.

“We are making it a priority to revive the Delta Port and we’re going to spend part of our budget for this year on it”, Omar said.
