Adenuga Contributes N.5bn to Bayelsa State Government Flood Relief Efforts
A dazzling sum of N500 million was donated to support the flood relief efforts of the Bayelsa State Government by the Chairman of Globacom, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jnr.
While presenting the cheque to state Governor Hon. Seriake Dickson, in Abuja Tuesday, Adenuga said he was particularly touched, and then moved to make the donation based on the suffering the victims have experienced and the magnitude of the flood, considering the environmental effects.
The Business mogul also highly praised the various steps taken by the governments at the state and federal levels in moderating the effects, both during and after the floods.
He said his donation was to help the people settle down faster after the event.
In response, Dickson who led the delegation to Adenuga’s residence thanked and praised him for his concern for the welfare of the state and its citizens.
The Governor revealed that he had just inaugurated a committee on post flood management led by the former National Security Adviser, General Andrew Owoye Azazi (rtd).
He also disclosed that the selection and calibre of persons on the committee emphasizes the tenacity and dedication of government to guarantee that monies donated towards this cause are well spent and directed to the real beneficiaries over and above made to serve the rationale for which they were proposed.
