Nigerian Stock Exchange Watch: ASI Gains 0.67% as Banking sub-Index Gains Big
The banking sub-index gained 2.09% in today’s trading, driving the stock market to close up by 0.67%.
The All Share Index closed at 26,618.70 whilst the market capitalization of the market arrived at N8.5 trillion.
Fidelity Bank (+9.09%) led the banking sub-sector in price appreciation. Union Bank (+6.9%) came in a close second, whilst Zenith Bank (+5.15%) came in third in terms of price gains in the sector.
The consumer goods sector shed 0.5% due to price depreciation in Nigerian Breweries (-1.64%). Dangote Flour also shed 48 points.
The oil and gas sub-index gained 0.32% led by Eterna’s (+4.07%) gain. Oando and Conoil also closed in positive territory.
