Dangote to advance for investment in Sudan

Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the Chairman, Dangote Group has admitted having plans to expand his conglomerate to Sudan. Dangote made this known when he hosted Dr. Tagelsir Mahgoub Ali, the new Sudanese Ambassador to Nigeria on a courtsey call.

 

Speaking on the Nigerian-Sudan relationship, Dangote said the relationship was historic, inspiring, and thriving for decades now and the relationship will be further strengthened with the Dangote Group ready to register its presence in Sudan as part of its long-term business strategy, as it has done in Zambia and Senegal.

 

After commending Dangote for his innovative ideas and strides in business, especially in Africa, the Ambassador requested that Dangote visit Sudan.

 

In reaction, Dangote accepted the request and promised to visit soon as he believed in the African continent, which he has expressed in establishing cement factories in the continent.

 

The Ambassador used the opportunity to appreciate Nigeria for her part in the relationship both countries have fostered for a long time. He further disclosed t hat his mission in Nigeria was to strengthen the relationship and enhance bilateral relationship between both countries.

The Ambassador said a biennial commission will soon be established to enhance bilateral relationship between both countries, the commission is expected to formulate a framework to guide prospective investors in Nigeria and Sudan to be headed by both Vice Presidents.

 

Ali further called on Nigeria and the world to explore the many investment opportunities in Sudan, he said, Sudan is one of the biggest producers of cotton in the world and has one biggest sugar plantations.
