Otedola Should be Tried Alongside Lawan – Anti Corruption Network

The Executive Secretary of the Anti-Corruption Network, Dino Melaye, has said that Femi Otedola should be tried in a court of law alongside Farouk Lawan and Borniface Emenalo if government is sincere in its fight against corruption.

Melaye said, “From what we have seen and heard, they have exempted the name of Mr. Femi Otedola from the list of those to be prosecuted.

“We are insisting that the three actors in the bribery saga (Otedola, Lawan and Emenalo) should be put on trial. The government should let the court determine whoever is guilty.

“Anything short of that, we are going to mobilise Nigerians against the trial of Lawan and Emenalo.”

Melaye said his organization would resist plans by government to call Otedola as a witness because  “from police findings, they cannot call it a sting operation for lack of evidence.”

“If the government does not prosecute Otedola, it would amount to an attempt to water-down the case and acquit him.

“Nigerians are interested in this matter. Let the three suspects face trial and the proceedings of the court will enable them to have full insight into what transpired.”

    Melaye, it is a pity that you have become the judge on this case. How did you know, it wasn’t a sting operation? I believe your write-up is just to show your disdain for the success of Femi Otedola. Your type is just out to make money and undeserved self-publicity through establishment of an NGO.

    Let us educate ourselves. What is a sting operation? I’m my opinion a sting operation is one that is fast and aimed at distabilising the enemy. Example the operation that killed Osama Bin Laden, amongst others. It is similar to a raid Now to have classified this as a sting operation it should have ended in the arrest of Lawan just as he departed from Otedola’s house. Failure to do that confirms it was not a sting operation as the evidence required is not there. It is obvious that Otedola is only a traitor who agreed to bribe Lawan but is now reneging on his early promise and thinks a smear campaign is the way out my personal opinion is that the giver and the receiver should be prosecuted by a competent court because they are both culpable Femi Otedola is not a saint because I wonder why a person would give a bribe if he is innocent and has nothing to hide. His argument that he sells AGO only is a confirmation of an abuse of the form m which he used to buy forex from the CBN when it was not for PMS pls let them all be charged to court
