Nigerian Stock Exchange: Top Tier Banks, Forte Oil (+5%), Fidelity (+5%) Push ASI (+0.28%) Upwards

The All Share Index (+0.28%) gained a third day due to a strong outing by the top tier banks. UBA (+3.26%), Zenith (+1.89%), First Bank (+0.95%), Access (+0.83%), and GTBank (+0.73%), all the top-tiers gained in the day’s trading.

Fidelity bank (+5%) was the best performer in the banking sub-sector today, Union Bank (+4.98%) followed closely.

Diamond (-1.29%), FCMB (-3.35%), Sterling  (-1.82%), and Skye (-0.35%) were the losers in the sector today.

Transcorp (+4.51%) shares continued their surge today. The stock is up more than 117% over the last 3 weeks.

The consumer goods sub index dipped 0.19% as Int’l Breweries (+2.74%) and Dangote Sugar (+0.55%) climbed higher.

Cadbury (-4.95%), Dangote Flour (-4.89%) and Flour Mills (-0.10%) retreated.

The Insurance sub-index fell by 0.71%. as GTAssurance fell 5%. Law Union & Rock (+3.57%), Continental RE (+4.23%),  and Wapic (+4.76%) advanced in the day’s trading.

The market capitalization of the bourse advanced to N 6,8 trillion, and the YTD performance was 2.74%.
