By on June 4, 2012

First Bank has partnered Ria International, a money transfer service with operations in over 120 countries.

The Managing Director of First Bank, Mr. Bisi Onasanya has described the partnership as a “child of prosperity”, calling it remarkable as the landmark event occurred during the bank’s 43rd yearly meeting.

He added, “I am optimistic that this venture with RIA International will make a remarkable impact on the lives of our invaluable customers in particular and the entire people of Nigeria in general.”

He continued, “I am especially delighted that subsidiaries of the FirstBank Group, within and outside the country, are making enormous contributions to the growth and development of the national economy, to the delight of all our stakeholders.

“FirstBank is a pioneer in the money transfer sector. We have a longstanding relationship with two other leading international money transfer companies, as exclusivity gave way to multi-agency environment. We are proud that we have received many global awards for outstanding performance in recognition of our outstanding money transfer services.

“In expanding our scope in the money transfer subsector, we recognise that it will be unwieldy, indeed impossible, to sign-up to all money transfer operators. Consequently, we have carefully identified RIA International as a major consumer-to-consumer remittance company worthy of our partnership.

“We are impressed with the pedigree of RIA International, the third largest money transfer business in the world that has developed a fast, reliable and secure system, with expansive global operations.”
