Amosun awards 32-KM Road Project in Ota to Brazilian Firm

Governor Ibikunle Amosun, working tirelessly to achieve his Urban Renewal Plan for Ogun State, has awarded a 32 kilometre road project to Brazilian construction firm Prado E Meedo.

The contract is to be executed on a Private Public Partnership model and will see the  company put some of its own finances at risk.

The Sango-Ijoko-Agbado-Oke-Aro-Akute-Ojodu Abiodun road  project spans two local governments Ado-Odo, Ota and Ifo.

Governor Amosun has said road construction and rehabilitation is an integral part of his administration’s Urban Renewal programme to open up the Abeokuta metropolis and other parts of Ogun to commercial and industrial development.

For many years, the former Governor of the state, Gbenga Daniel neglected the road networks, allowing them to transform into eyesore and death traps.

Whilst commissioning a 2.4 kilometers six-lane Ibara-Ita-Eko-Sokori-Totoro Road recently, Amosun said international standards and high level of project monitoring would be the new “Ogun Standard” benchmark for infrastructure development in the State.

He said, “We are setting a new standard, because we believe that for any society to attain a metropolitan status, there is need for urbanisation in accordance with certain procedure which can meet up with the internationally acceptable standard.”
