Nigerian Stock Exchange Watch: ASI (-0.04%) Declines Marginally, Dangote Flour (+5%) Gains Maximum Points

The All Share Index declined marginally, shedding 0.04% to close at 22,170.96. Market activity improved over previous sessions but was not remarkable.

The banking sub-sector was largely in bearish territory with top tier banks GTBank (-1.03%) and Zenith (-1.36%) shedding some points, whilst First Bank and UBA remained unchanged.

On the flip side Access (+1.39%), Diamond (+1.52%), Stanbic (+0.33%), and Union (+4.84%) saw improvement in their stock prices. However this did not stop the banking sub-index from retreating by 0.7%.

The Insurance sub-sector saw GTAssure (-3.7%), and Custodian (-4.6%) retreat driving the sub-index to fall by 1.72%.

Dangote Flour (+5%) led the Consumer Goods sector as it gained maximum points. Cadbury (+3.56%), and International Breweries (+4.86%) also contributed to the positive performance of the sub-index which gained 0.23%.

Flour Mills (-1.01%) and NASCON (-4.91%) also shed points.

The Oil and Gas sub-index gained 0.34% spurred by Oando (+1.49%) and Japaul (+3.51%).
