Hilton to Collaborate with Transcorp on Eight New Hotel Projects

Hilton Worldwide, owners of chains of luxury hotels across the world, has disclosed its plans to further deepen its partnership with Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (Transcorp) to develop eight new luxury hotel facilities across Nigerian cities within seven years.

The hospitality subsidiary of Transcorp – Transnational Hotels and Tourism Services Limited (THTSL) are the owners of Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.

The CEO of THTSL, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, said “We are thrilled about our continued partnership with the Hilton Group which will no doubt reinforce THTSL’s position as a market leader in the Hospitality sector in Nigeria and Africa.”

He stated that “We are truly committed to contributing to and developing our nation through our Hospitality platform. We will build Africa’s choice hospitality assets by replicating our success with our flagship hotel to deliver world class hospitality projects by extending to other strategic and competitive locations in Nigeria and beyond. We will also look at the entire hospitality value chain, beyond hotels, to enhance the tourism potentials of our host cities and States’.

Addressing the media in Abuja on his recent visit to the Prestigious Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja, the Area President (Middle East and Africa) Hilton worldwide, Mr. Rudi Jagersbacher stated that “Hilton is excited about the phenomenal opportunities in Africa and Middle East and as a result are keen to be active players in the continents fast-growing economy. He stated that the hotel plans to build at least two of its brands in Lagos and some more in select cities across Nigeria”.

The President /CEO of Transcorp, Mr. Obinna Ufudo said ‘Transcorp has made strategic plans to rapidly expand its hospitality portfolio. In the next three to five years, we are determined to significantly increase the number of our hotels across key cities in Nigeria particularly Lagos and Abuja. We will continue to seek opportunities to expand to niche markets and segments across in Africa.’
