Nigeria’s Scanpower Partners Siemens on 1,600 MW Power Plant in Lekki

Siemens, one of the world’s leading providers of energy solutions has been partnered by Nigerian company – Scanpower to build a 1,600 Megawatt Gas turbine power station in Lekki.

Chief Executive Officer of Siemens AG stated, “A reliable and affordable supply of electricity is the decisive factor in further developing Nigeria´s economy and society.

“Lagos, as one of the fastest growing mega cities in the world, is seeking for a significant improvement in its power supply. The decision of Scanpower and its Joint Venture partners to build, together with Siemens as technical partner, a modern and environmentally-friendly gas turbine power station, is an essential contribution to increase the power generation capacity and the security of power supply under the framework of the privatization of the energy sector in Nigeria.”

Scanpower is a Nigerian-based company mainly involved in the distribution of electric energy in Nigeria.
