E-Block to Set up 2.5 Million Tons Cement Plant in Ogun State

E-Block Cement Limited, an indigenous company has unveiled its plans to set up a cement production plant in Ogun state with a capacity to churn out 2.5 million tons of cement per annum.

CEO of the company, Segun Jawando disclosed this to the Ministry of Trade and Investment in Abuja. He said the plant when completed would provide 5,000 jobs to Nigerians, and make Nigeria the industrial hub of Africa.

According to him, “The company has already secured a place to cite the cement manufacturing company in Ogun State and has secured all the technical partners and requirement and by the time they finish the industry, it will generate up to 5,000 jobs.”

The company has already submitted a request to the ministry for permission to export cement.

Minister of State for Trade and Investment welcomed their effort and pledged assistance in helping the investor set up the new plant in form of tax relief on equipments and other assistance.

In his comments, Mr. Ortom acknowledged that Nigeria was already producing about 12 million tons of cement, still falling short of the 18 million tons demanded by the economy.
