Nigerian Stock Exchange Watch: Bearish Sentiments Linger

The Nigerian Stock Exchange has declined for the second straight day on the back of a bearish showing put on by the financial services and consumer goods sectors.
The All Share Index retreated to 20,913.21, bringing the weekly performance to 0.14% and the year-to-date performance to 0.88%.
Activity levels picked up by 67% (Volume) and 34% (Value) as 178 million shares worth N 1.17 billion exchanged hands today.

Activity in the market was led primarily by the banking sector, although a break in the trend came in the form of a large block trade from Continental Reinsurance.
