Labour, FG Talks End in Stalemate Saturday, Resume Today
Talks between the Federal Government and Labour have ended in a stalemate as both sides have refused to shift grounds on their current positions. The Government has refused to revert back to the N 65 pump price of petrol and Labour has refused to call off the strike in line with the wishes of the people.
NLC President speaking to journalists outside the Presidential Palace stated, “The meeting is not deadlocked, but we have not reached a compromise.” On if oil platforms would be shutdown from mid-night, he stated, “No, we are taking this thing gradually. We are still giving peace a chance.”
It is expected that discussions between both parties will resume tomorrow.
