Skye Bank Appoints New Directors

Skye Bank Plc has announced the appointment of Mr. Babajide Tajudeen Agbabiaka as a non-Executive Director of the Bank. Mr. Babajide Agbabiaka is a 1973 Geology graduate of the University of Ibadan. His career spans over 30 years in the Oil and Gas industry. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists and holds several awards. Mr. Agbabiaka retired in 2006 as an Executive Director of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited, a subsidiary of ExxonMobil. His appointment has been approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria and ratified by shareholders of the Bank.

The Bank has also appointed Mr. Moses Olakunle Aluko (Non-Executive Director) and Mr. Michael Gashua Tarfa (Independent Director) respectively.

Mr. Aluko is an astute administrator and banker with over 30 years’ experience. He was the founding Managing Director of Equitorial Trust Bank Ltd and was very active in the risk asset examination/pre & post acquisition of several defunct banks. Mr. Aluko currently works as a Consultant providing advisory services on investment banking and allied matters. His appointment is however, awaiting Central Bank of Nigeria approval and shareholders’ ratification.

Mr. Tarfa obtained a B.Sc in Agriculture in 1977 from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He also has an M.Sc from the same University and an MBA from Kensington University Glendale, USA. Mr. Tarfa started his career as a Zonal Coordinator of Gongola Agricultural Development Programme. He also worked for 16 years in the Banking Industry and held various senior management positions. He recently retired as a General Manager with the Nigerian Ports Authority. His appointment is also awaiting approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria as well as shareholders’ ratification.
