Return Gambo Or We Go On Strike- Pengassan
On Friday, The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria made known their stand concerning the suspension of their Branch manager, Mr Mohammed Gambo, that if he is not returned back into office, they would go on nationwide strike.
The Ministry of Petroleum Resources and the Petroleum Equalisation Fund’s Management Board have placed a six months suspension without pay on the Branch Chairman, Mr Mohammed Gambo for leading members to protest against anti-labour practices of the PEF executive secretary.”
In a statement put forward by the association, they are giving up till Wednesday, November 30, 2011 by which time PEF is expected to have reversed its six-month suspension without pay of the branch chairman, otherwise, the NEC will be invited to declare an indefinite national strike.
Recent fuel queues in some parts of the country have been attributed to the strike warnings. Many stakeholders in response to the situation have pleaded with the association to solve matters amicably.
