Marketing Corporation To Replace All Marketing Boards Nationwide

There is a plan to replace all Marketing Boards all over the nation with Marketing Corporations by the federal government.

This was made known at the convocation ceremony of the federal College of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Ibadan on Thursday.

In a statement made by the representative of The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr Akinwumi Adesina, the government is working towards the transformation of the council to a national agricultural state. Thereby there would be minimum price for food crops and review of the Land Use Act to enable easier access to land for investors in agriculture

The representative of the minister, in the person of the Executive Secretary, Agriculture Research Council of Nigeria, Prof. B. Y. Abubakar also said, this is one of the steps taken in line with the president’s transformation agenda which is to ensure that the agricultural sector should not been seen as just a remedial or corrective measure of the economy but also as a reputable business of its own category that is very measurable to present times.
