Stock Market Watch: ASI In Second Day Decline

The Stock Market declined for the second day in a row, shedding 15 points today and bringing the All Share Index to 20,372.92.

Forte Oil consolidated on previous day gains and took the full 500 points allowed, the company was the biggest gainer in the market today.

EcoBank gained 462 points, even as bearish sentiments prevailed in the banking sector. The only other gainers were FCMB and Skye, recording an uptick of 1% and 0.2% apiece.

GTBank and UBA shed 120 and 379 points a piece in daily trading.

Across the consumer goods space, Dangote Flour earned top marks today, gaining 348 points, Cadbury was down 496 points and Dangote Sugar 495 points. Guiness also shed 143 points, even as UAC Nigeria and Nigerian Breweries recorded a marginal uptick of 10 and 1 basis point respectively.

Across the infrastructure space, LafargeWAPCO, was up 397 points as all other counters stayed dormant.

Oando gained 256 points in trading today.

Over 282 million shares valued at N 1.4 Billion traded on the market.
