Van Persie and Mancini pick up EPL October prizes

In form Arsenal striker, Robin van Persie has been named the Barclays Player of the Month for October. The Dutchman scored a total of seven goals last month, including a hatrick against Chelsea to bring his tally to ten goals in the league.

The Gunners captain has been behind his team’s run of form, after they started the season badly. Van Persie was also awarded a prize for passing the 10-goal mark in the race for the golden boot.
Coach of Manchester City, Roberto Mancini picked up the Manager of the month gong. In the last month, his team shocked fierce rivals 6-1 at Old Trafford and have pulled five points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Both Van Persie and Mancini will receive their prizes before their games against West Brom and Queens Park Rangers respectively.
