Nigeria Stock Exchange declines by 0.91%

The Nigerian Stock Exchange put on a bearish performance today shedding a total of 0.91%. Profit takers cashing in on gains of previous trading days drove the market into the red.

Most of the top tier banks recorded losses, whilst Unity, Access, and EcoBank were up marginally. Sterling closed trading with unfilled demand and bagged a healthy 4.35%.

Other top gainers on the bourse today are Flour Mills (5%), Transcorp (4.94%), May & Baker (4.67%), and Guaranty Trust Assurance (4.50%).

Breweries sector did not fare well today with Nigerian Breweries and Guinness losing 3.6% and 4.99% respectively.

Value of shares traded on the bourse today was N 2 billion.

The Year to date performance is at -17.21% and the week to date is 2.38%.
