ABG Group plans Trailer Assembly plant in Kaduna State

A N10 billion Trailer Assembly plant will soon be established in Kaduna State, courtesy of  ABG Group and their technical partner, BMC of Turkey.

The group’s Chairman, Dr. Bawa Garuba, made the disclosure when he led a delegation of investors from Turkey to see the Minister of State for Trade and Investment, Chief Samuel Ortom.

He stated that the group was partnering with BMC of Turkey to facilitate the establishment of auto assembly plant in Nigeria and the group will invest about N10 billion in the country to create 400 direct and 2,500 indirect employment in the auto sector.

The Export Sales Manager of BMC of Turkey, stated that they have started feasibility study on the production of BMC products in Nigeria and the company was willing to transfer technology to its partner in the country.

He assured that they will meet customer satisfaction once they start operating in the country.

Also, the Assistant Manager, Altinordu Treyler Sanayi VETIC Ltd, Mr. Hassan Atayek said that they were in the country to set up a trailer assembly plant in Kaduna

In response, Chief Ortom said government is deeply concerned about the auto industry which had led to meeting with the stakeholders to transform the sector.

“We have come up with position papers on how to improve the sector and we are presenting memo to the Federal Executive Council for consideration. We cannot be talking of attracting investors to Nigeria when we cannot mange those already on ground. We are going to ensure we provide enabling environment for the auto industry to be revived in the country because we have potential of attracting more companies to the sector.”

He appealed to investors to establish the assembly plant, and auto cluster that will help the assembly plant in the country, adding that the country was blessed with natural resources, capacity and all that was necessary to make it an industrialised nation, adding that what we just needed was the technical assistance.

The Minister stressed that government was ready to partner with them to ensure that their investment is secured in order to provide job opportunities to Nigerian  youths.
