Anish Daryani joining Ogilvy Africa as head of Nigeria operations

Anish Daryani, who was Business Head at Everest Brand Solutions, is headed for an international assignment at Ogilvy Africa. He will be based out of Lagos in Nigeria. He is joining Ogilvy Africa as General Manager, Nigeria and will be based out of f Lagos.

Confirming his movement, Daryani said, “The six years I’ve spent with the Rediffusion Group have been thoroughly rewarding. There was a lot to learn from the many roles I played, and lots to offer to the group in return. I worked with some of the greatest minds in the industry, all of whom have done their bit to shape my career. I’m indebted to them and will continue to be an ambassador for the agency as I move on.”

On his African assignment, Daryani said, “The entire world is looking at Africa for the growth it has to offer. I’m excited about riding this wave of development and use all the learning from my experiences in India in an entirely new socio-cultural environment. Moreover, I’m returning to Ogilvy, an agency I’m familiar with and have immense respect for. With everything put together, it promises to be a challenging experience, which is too good to resist.”

In his last stint of over three years at Rediffusion, Daryani wore many hats. He joined the Mumbai office as Brand Partner on Kingfisher Airlines, and then took charge of other key businesses such as Tata Motors and Tata Nano. He then undertook a corporate role as Business Head for Business Development, and also oversaw the Corporate Communications for the Rediffusion Group. Here he was part of many new business wins that the group witnessed. He then moved on to the group’s second agency, Everest Brand Solutions.

In his nine years of work experience, Daryani has had two stints with Ogilvy and Rediffusion Y&R, one each in Kolkata and Mumbai.

He has worked on several successful brand stories of the country, which include Hutch (now Vodafone), Airtel, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Nano, Kingfisher Airlines, Brooke Bond Red Label, Danone, The Times of India, The Economic Times, The Statesman, Colors, “Bula-Di” and Linc Pens, among others.
