Commissioning of the IPP Funded by Fidelity Bank

By on June 29, 2011

The Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, commissioned the 10megawatts Island Power Plant (IPP), built by ENCON Plc, a subsidiary of NEGRIS. Fidelity bank had the singular honour of financing the Project.

The IPP is very important to Lagos State Government because it will power six major public parastatals and light up 23 streets in Lagos Island. This is the second of such critical partnership between Fidelity and Lagos State Government, after Akute Power Plant, which is powering water supply in Lagos State.

Governor Fashola and other dignitaries who spoke paid glowing tributes to our bank for being at the forefront of financing infrastructural development and the real sector, at large.

The attached communication material on the project ran in the Sun newspaper yesterday. Today it is in The Guardian, page 23; Punch, page 5; This Day, page 9, and Daily Trust, Page 3. It will also be on Channels News at 10 tonight, and Newsline on NTA Network at 9pm on Sunday.
